Find an appliance model number
The brand and appearance are not enough. The complete model number identifies the appliance design, compatible components, and technical information. Use this guide to find and photograph the label without pulling out a heavy machine or removing a panel.
What you are looking for
The appliance’s front may say Profile, Duet, Bravos, Gallery, Bespoke, Cabrio, or another product-family name. That is useful context, but it is not normally the complete model number needed to identify parts.
Look for a rectangular rating plate or sticker that explicitly uses wording such as Model, Model No., MOD, or Model Code. The same label usually includes Serial, S/N, electrical information, and certification marks. Some newer labels also include a QR code.
Copy every letter, number, dash, slash, and suffix. A missing final letter or revision suffix can point to the wrong component.
Common label locations
Locations vary by manufacturer and model. Start with the safe, visible areas below and stop if finding the label would require moving a heavy appliance, disconnecting utilities, or removing a service panel.
Open the dryer door and inspect the rim of the cabinet opening, the door frame, and the area just inside the opening. On some ventless units the label may be behind an accessible water tank. Do not pull out a stacked or gas-connected dryer merely to check the rear.
Dryer repair details →Open the door and inspect the cabinet frame around the opening and the area near the door seal. Do not peel back or damage the rubber boot. A flashlight and a phone photo usually make a low-mounted label easier to read.
Washer repair details →Lift the lid and check the tub rim or underside of the lid. Some brands and older models place the tag on the upper rear console or a side panel. Do not tilt or drag the washer to reach a hidden tag.
Check inside the fresh-food compartment along the upper side walls, near the ceiling or control housing, and around the crisper area. Upright and chest freezers may use an upper interior side wall. Do not confuse a water-filter number with the appliance model.
Refrigerator repair details →Open the door fully and inspect the left and right tub frame, top edge, and sides of the door. The tag is often invisible when the dishwasher is closed but should not require removing the machine from the cabinet.
Dishwasher repair details →Open the oven door and inspect the frame around the cavity. Also check the frame behind or beside the lower storage drawer when it can be opened normally. Do not lift a cooktop or reach near gas or electrical connections.
Cooking-appliance details →A wall-oven tag is often on the cavity frame or near the top of the opening with the door open. Cooktop labels are commonly on the underside, which may only be safely visible from an accessible cabinet below. Do not lift an installed glass cooktop to look.
Open the door and check the front frame, door opening, right-hand vent area, and underside near the control panel. Countertop and portable microwaves are outside Wonkeeland’s normal service list.

Why this helps your appointment
Different appliances can share the same brand, size, color, and outward appearance while using different heating elements, pumps, controls, sensors, motors, or wiring. The model code lets Leon research the correct parts diagram and identify whether a commonly stocked component is even compatible.
Providing the model does not guarantee a one-visit repair. The failed part is still unknown until diagnosis, a model can have production changes, and specialized components may require ordering. It does improve preparation and reduces preventable delays.
